About the work

Architecture in suspension. Two triangular pillars of black steel carry a band of twisted metal that runs horizontally like a façade out of balance, taut, about to give way, yet holding. At its centre a closed metal ring sets a rough stone, the only organic note in this rigorously geometric composition. Real Estate is a sculpted meditation on the city: its structures that weigh, its promises that hang by very little, the precarious balance between what is built and the people it is meant to shelter. The stone at the heart of the piece, picked up, natural, irreducible, recalls what existed before the foundations and what will remain after them. The title, with its double meaning, questions the market as much as the material.

The format, in practice

At 30 cm high, this is a small format: a shelf, a console, a mantelpiece. It is 50 cm wide, so it fits into most interiors without rearranging the room.
