Passion
Passion is a sculpture that burns. Two bands of metal, one rough and oxidised like ageing skin, the other polished until it reflects light like an inner mirror, wrap around each other in a perpetual movement of attraction and resistance.
Worked with the flame and cold-hammered, the material keeps within it the memory of the fire that shaped it. The rust is not decay but a chosen patina, a scar that tells of time and intensity. Photographed in darkness, the work reveals its own light, the light generated by everything that truly burns.
Passion questions the duality of feeling: what consumes can also illuminate.
