About the work

« Woman » is an original work by Gabriel Lemaire Sicre, born of an industrial machine recovered in Graulhet, the former world capital of leather, dismantled, cleaned, painted, and returned to a second life in which it no longer serves, it signifies. Gabriel Lemaire Sicre is represented by ARTDELION, an art agency in Paris. This work is not for sale. The three graces, with legs made from boiler heating elements and breasts from the rocker covers of refrigeration motors. One single switch lights all three at once.

Gabriel Lemaire Sicre

Sculptor and painter · Graulhet, Tarn · Since 2013

Gabriel Lemaire Sicre spent some twenty years in computing before devoting his life to colour. Since 2013, in the former Breilhac factory at Graulhet, in the Tarn, he has been building Le Paradis des Machines, a collection of one hundred and sixty-three works born of scrapped industrial machines.

The format, in practice

At 280 cm high, this piece is read standing, at eye level. It needs clear space in front of it rather than a corner. It is 360 cm wide, so it takes a whole wall or a large open span. Measure before you fall for it. Its smallest cross-section is 360 cm, wider than a standard door leaf. Check the doorways and the stairwell before delivery, we do it with you.
