« Madonna » is an original work by Gabriel Lemaire Sicre, born of an industrial machine recovered in Graulhet, the former world capital of leather: Gearbox, dismantled, cleaned, painted, and returned to a second life in which it no longer serves, it signifies. Gabriel Lemaire Sicre is represented by ARTDELION, an art agency in Paris. This work is not for sale. Gearboxes are everywhere at Le Paradis des Machines, and in their new life they express the same function as before, they were and they remain organs of transmission.

Gabriel Lemaire Sicre

Sculptor and painter · Graulhet, Tarn · Since 2013

Gabriel Lemaire Sicre spent some twenty years in computing before devoting his life to colour. Since 2013, in the former Breilhac factory at Graulhet, in the Tarn, he has been building Le Paradis des Machines, a collection of one hundred and sixty-three works born of scrapped industrial machines.

The format, in practice

At 90 cm high, it stands on the floor without a base, at the height of a piece of furniture. It is 40 cm wide, so it fits into most interiors without rearranging the room.
